KODI is POWER

KODI is the most powerful and customizable media player available. In this guide we are going to show you a few tips to setting up our customized Android fork of KODI. First since KODI is a media player it will need permission to access files on your device. So when you first open up the app you simply confirm and allow access.

The next window is the version log for the Chef Builds Wizard. This will give you a list of recent updates to the builds contained in the wizard. Simply dismiss this notification to continue.

Keep it clean.

One of the biggest reasons we have this wizard installed is so you can set it to clean the app cache, packages, and thumbnails automatically and every time the app starts. Simply leave these three items marked and any of the others you wish to keep like Trakt, Real Debrid, Login Data, Advanced Settings, Favorites, and even create and keep a addon whitelist and continue. We highly recommend checking all except the whitelist.

Build Menu

The build menu we will go over in another tutorial. For those using a Fire TV Stick we recommend never installing builds. If you have a Nvidia Shield or other powerful device you may want to unlock a more content loaded version of this player. But for now we are simply going to keep it basic and simple to keep navigating the app simple by clicking Ignore.

Now go down the menu on the left and select Add-ons.

Next select My add-ons.

Now select PVR clients.

Our KODI fork has PVR IPTV Simple Client already installed for you but if you are using a standard KODI fork you will want to install this add-on. Simply select this add-on.

Select Configure.

Player Settings

For most users it may be helpful to remove HQ Scalers from the player. So let’s go to the settings menu in this player. From the main menu of this app click on the setting icon at the top.

Next click on Player.

Now change your settings menu from standard to expert by clicking on standard at the bottom left.

HQ scalers are set to 20 by default. These are not required for HD streams and often times are the cause of buffering. Simply lower this setting to 0 for best results.
